Mission

Dedicated to promoting personal and collective well-being through the practice and teaching of meditation, mindfulness, and related holistic health practices and tools.

Vision

Create safe and soothing environments that nurture our youngest community members – our children – while supporting the well-being and resilience of the dedicated staff and teachers who guide and inspire them – fostering a ripple effect into our community.

Our Values

Care

We believe that caring for ourselves is the foundation for caring for others. By prioritizing our

own well-being, we cultivate the compassion, energy, and resilience needed to nurture those around us

with intention and empathy.

Connection

We believe that true connection begins within. By nurturing self-awareness, we create a

foundation for authentic, meaningful relationships with others.

Peace

We believe that by cultivating care and connection within ourselves, and extending that support to others, we create a nurturing environment where peace can thrive.

Support

We believe by supporting nervous system regulation, we create a foundation for

strengthening emotional intelligence and enhancing social skills, empowering individuals to connect,

communicate, and thrive with greater resilience and empathy.

This shared foundation of mutual care fosters understanding, compassion, and harmony, providing a space where peace can be nurtured and sustained for all.

Where We're Making a Difference

Over the last year, our Co-Founders Alice Rubert and Melissa Knoll have been volunteering their time three days a week at Lakeland Elementary School hosting and teaching mindfulness to teachers/staff and participating kids enrolled in grades 3-5. These sessions have given children a chance to practice self-regulation, build emotional intelligence, and discover tools they can carry into the classroom and beyond. While also giving teachers and staff time to reset during a busy school day, helping them return to their classrooms grounded and ready to support their students.

Our special project this year was the renovation of the Zen Den – now a soothing sanctuary at the heart of Lakeland Elementary. Thanks to the generous in-kind donation of time, labor, and materials from a local builder, this space has been transformed into a safe, calming environment where kids and staff alike can pause, reset, and restore balance throughout the school day.

As the 2025-2026 school year begins, Waterside 4 Wellness is expanding its reach. Alice and Melissa will now be bringing mindfulness five days a week to students, while also offering afternoon reset practices for teachers and staff. This consistency helps weave mindfulness into the fabric of the school culture, creating calmer classrooms and a more supportive learning environment.

To sustain and grow this enrichment opportunity district-wide, we are seeking donations to fund the payment of our mindfulness teachers and ensure that this vital resource continues to for years to come. Your contributions directly support calmer classrooms, healthier minds, and stronger schools.
